We had another successful Toronto trip! After a late start and some serious delays en route, due to rain, snow and long blockage on the 401 from over-turned semi-trailers, we arrived at our destination at 3:00 AM! There were twelve of us, including two first-time youth. We never heard any complaints about being tired, not getting showers or anything else. All had eager, willing hearts to serve. Our home base was the Grace CRC in Scarborough, a suburb of Toronto. We slept and ate most of our meals there, including a traditional turkey dinner Thursday evening. From there, we headed out each day, after breakfast and devotions to serve at various downtown missions and homeless shelters. We had a good variety of projects including preparing and serving food to the homeless, assisting with an after school program for children, packaging food bags at Scott Mission and helping Pauline Ho with Saturday Kids’ Church. We had a fun evening of bowling and pizza with our friends from All Nations Christian Fellowship Church. We also participated in their annual anniversary celebration and dinner Saturday night and worshipped with them Sunday morning before heading back to Michigan. Thankfully, our return trip was much more expedient and uneventful.
Praise God!
